Sustainable Development & Conservation: Solar Energy

Energy plays an important role for the development of a country. Electrical energy is essential not only for social economy but also for factories. With electrical energy, humans can get light, entertainment from TV, news and information and can use communication devices such as phone and internet, and do not have to use wood and charcoal for heat energy. Solar energy can be used to produce electric energy without the negative impact to the environment.

This course is prepared by World Wide Fund for Nature Myanmar (WWF) by the invitation of Thant Myanmar. WWF is the world’s leading conservation organization which has been working for over 60 years, operating in nearly 100 countries. Established in Myanmar in 2015, WWF has offices in Yangon and Dawei with two target conservation in two areas: the Ayeyarwaddy River Landscape and the Dawna Tenasserim Landscape. Other focus areas include Climate and Energy, Wildlife, Illegal Wildlife, Forest, Freshwater, Sustainable Agriculture, Sustainable Finance, and Sustainable Infrastructure.

နိုင်ငံတစ်နိုင်ငံဖွံဖြိုးတိုးတက်ရေး အတွက် စွမ်းအင်သည် အရေးပါသော အခန်းကဏ္ဍတွင် ပါဝင်ပါသည်။ လူမှုစီးပွားဘဝဖွံဖြိုးတိုးတက်ရန် လျှပ်စစ်မီးလိုအပ်ပါသလို စက်ရုံအလုပ်ရုံများ ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်ရေးအတွက်လည်း လျှပ်စစ်မီးကို မရှိမဖြစ်လိုအပ်ပါသည်။ လျှပ်စစ်မီးရရှိခြင်းဖြင့် လူသားများသည် မီးအလင်းရောင် ရရှိခြင်း၊ တီဗီမှတဆင့် ဖျော်ဖြေရေးအစီအစဉ်များ ကြည့်ရှုနိုင်သလို သတင်းအချက်လက်များ ရရှိနိုင်ခြင်း၊ ဖုန်း နှင့် အင်တာနက်ကဲ့သို့ ဆက်သွယ်ရေးပစ္စည်း အသုံးပြုနိုင်ခြင်း၊ မီးခိုးငွေ့ထွက်သော ထင်းမီးသွေး အသုံးပြုစရာမလိုဘဲ အလွယ်တကူ ချက်ပြုတ်နိုင်ခြင်း၊ အစားအစာများ အအေးခံသိုလှောင်ခြင်း စသည့် အကျိုးကျေးဇူးများ ရရှိနိုင်ပါသည်။ နိုင်ငံတိုင်းတွင် ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်ရေးအတွက် လျှပ်စစ်လိုအပ်ချက်သည် တိုးလာလျှက်ရှိပါသည်။ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် ပျမ်းမျှအားဖြင့် လူဦးရေ၏ ထက်ဝက်ခန့်ကသာ လျှပ်စစ်မီးရရှိလျက်ရှိပြီး လျှပ်စစ်ရရှိရန်လုပ်ဆောင်ရာတွင် နည်းလမ်းအသွယ်သွယ်ရှိပါသည်။ ကျောက်မီးသွေးနှင့် သဘာဝဓာတ်ငွေ့ကဲ့သို့ ရုပ်ကြွင်းလောင်စာများ အသုံးပြု၍ လျှပ်စစ်ထုတ်လုပ်ခြင်းသည် ဖန်လုံအိမ်ဓာတ်ငွေ့ ထုတ်လွှတ်သည့်အတွက် သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ကို ထိခိုက်စေပါသည်။ လူတို့၏ လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်များမှ ဖြစ်ပေါ်လာသော ဖန်လုံအိမ်ဓာတ်ငွေ့များ အိုဇုန်းလွှာတွင် ပိတ်မိသောကြောင့် ကမ္ဘာ့ကြီးသည် ပိုမိုပူနွေးလာပြီး ရာသီဥတုပြောင်းလဲခြင်းများ ဖြစ်ပေါ်စေပါသည်။ ရေခဲတောင်များ အရည်ပျော်ခြင်း၊ ပင်လယ်ရေမျက်နှာပြင်များမြင့်တက်လာခြင်း၊ ရေကြီးခြင်း၊ ကုန်းတွင်းပိုင်းတွင် ရေခန်းခြောက်ခြင်း နှင့် အပူလှိုင်းဖြတ်ခြင်း စသည့် ရာသီဥတုပြောင်းလဲမှုများသည် ကမ္ဘာပေါ်ရှိ သက်ရှိ များနှင့် အပင်များ ၏ အသက်ရှင်နေထိုင်မှုအား ထိခိုက်စေနိုင်ပါသည်။ ရာသီဥတု ပြောင်းလဲမှုကြောင့် ကမ္ဘာပေါ်ရှိ အပင်နှင့် သက်ရှိမျိုးစိတ်များ မျိုးတုန်းပျောက်ကွယ်မှုများ ဖြစ်ပေါ်စေနိုင်ပါသည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် နိုင်ငံတကာတွင် ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်မှုများ ရေရှည်တည်တံ့ရေးနှင့် သဘာဝပတ်ဝန်းကျင် ထိန်းသိမ်းရေး အတွက် ဖန်လုံအိမ် ဓာတ်ငွေ့ထုတ်လွှတ်မှုအား လျော့ချရန် ပြန်ပြည့်မြဲစွမ်းအင်များ အသုံးပြုခြင်းအား အလေးပေးဆောင်ရွက်လျှက်ရှိပါသည်။

ရုပ်ကြွင်းလောင်စာများ အသုံးပြုမှုကို လျော့ချရန် ပြန်ပြည့်မြဲစွမ်းအင်အသုံးပြုပြီး လျှပ်စစ်ထုတ်လုပ်ခြင်း၊ လျှပ်စစ်ကားများ ထုတ်လုပ်အသုံးပြုမှုအား အားပေးခြင်း၊ လျှပ်စစ်လိုအပ်ချက်ကို လျော့ချနိုင်ရန် ထိရောက်မှုရှိသည့် နည်းပညာများအား အသုံးပြုစေခြင်း အစရှိသည့် လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်များကို ဖော်ဆောင်လျက် ရှိပါသည်။ ထို့ကြောင့် ဖွံ့ဖြိုးတိုးတက်မှုများ ရေရှည်တည်တံ့ရေးနှင့် သဘာဝ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင် ထိန်းသိမ်းရေးအတွက် အရေးပါသော အစိတ်အပိုင်းတစ်ခု ဖြစ်သော ပြန်ပြည့်မြဲစွမ်းအင်နှင့် ပတ်သတ်သည့် အခြေခံအကြောင်းအရာများကို သိရှိနားလည်နိုင်ရန် ရည်ရွယ်၍ နေရောင်ခြည်စွမ်းအင်၊ ရေအားလျှပ်စစ် နှင့် လေစွမ်းအင် သင်ခန်းစာ ၃ ခုဖြင့် ရေးဆွဲထားပါသည်။ ဤ ပြန်ပြည့်မြဲစွမ်းအင် သင်ခန်းစာတွင် နေရောင်ခြည်စွမ်းအင် နှင့် ပတ်သတ်သည့် အအောက်ပါ အကြောင်းအရာများအား လေ့လာ သင်ယူနိုင်မည် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။

ဤသင်တန်းကို သန့်မြန်မာ၏ ဖိတ်ခေါ်မှုဖြင့် World Wide Fund for Nature Myanmar (WWF) မှစီစဥ်ပို့ချထားခြင်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။ WWF သည် ကမ္ဘာတစ်ဝန်းရှိနိုင်ငံပေါင်း ၁၀၀ နီးပါးတွင် နှစ်ပေါင်း ၆၀ ကျော်ကြာထိန်းသိမ်းမှုလုပ်ငန်းများကို ဆောင်ရွက်နေသော ထင်ရှားသည့်အဖွဲ့အစည်းတစ်ခုဖြစ်သည်။ WWF Myanmar ကို ၂၀၁၅ခုနှစ်တွင် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတွင် စတင်တည်ထောင်ခဲ့ပြီး ရန်ကုန်နှင့် ထားဝယ်မြို့များတွင် ရုံးခန်းများဖွင့်လှစ်ထားပါသည်။ လက်ရှိတွင် Target Conservation Area နှစ်နေရာရှိပြီး ဧရာဝတီမြစ်ဒေသနှင့် ဒေါနတနင်္သာရီဒေသများတွင် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ အခြားဦးတည်လုပ်ဆောင်ချက်များတွင် ရာသီဥတုနှင့် စွမ်းအင်၊ တောရိုင်းတိရိစ္ဆာန်၊ တရားမဝင်တောရိုင်းတိရစ္ဆာန်များရောင်းဝယ်ဖောက်ကားမှု၊ သစ်တော၊ ရေချို၊ ရေရှည်တည်တံ့ကောင်းမွန်သော စိုက်ပျိုးရေး၊ ငွေကြေးနှင့်် အခြေခံအဆောက်အအုံကဏ္ဍများလည်း ပါဝင်ပါသည်။

Thant Myanmar is an organization born out of a movement to fight plastic pollution. It was registered in February 2019 as a non-profit company continuing its campaigns and public awareness raising and also doing contractual work on the topics of waste management, surveys and research, development of toolkits and guides for the private sector. Now Thant Myanmar’s clients range from the World Bank to UN programs, NGOs working in conservation and tourism as well as private sector industries developing waste reduction efforts in their specific industry.

Thant Myanmar is mainly operating in the following fields:

• Public awareness raising on the environmental impact of plastic and promotion of sustainable alternative
• Community engagement through its large volunteer network of CSOs who use our material and tools to change behavior on the ground. More than 50 trainings have been delivered with practical demonstrations and community management support to CSOs in both urban and rural Myanmar.
• Consulting organizations, companies and the hospitality sector in shifting to alternative solutions
• Consulting towns CDDs and rural communities in improved waste management
• Advocacy to government through research (currently discontinued due change in government)
• Environmental education to school and university students on topics of plastic pollution reduction, community solid waste management in both rural and urban Myanmar and climate change
• Trainings to youth organizations on practical approaches to implement solid waste management through their network. More than 20 such trainings have been delivered to youth till date.
