Payment for Ecosystem Services: From Theory to Practices

In this course, we are going to explore the Payment for Ecosystem Services program that developed as a tool to balance ecological and economic interest upon ecosystem services.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completion of this course, participants will be able to :

• explain a problem of externality in natural resource utilitation
• explain basic economic theory beyond PES program
• differentiate voluntary and mandatory base of PES system
• understand the example application of PES
• explain the basic method of ecosystem service vauation

ABOUT INSTRUCTOR

Dr. Diswandi holds the position of Associate Professor of Economics within the esteemed Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Mataram, Indonesia. His academic journey culminated in the acquisition of a doctoral degree in economics (Ph.D.) from Murdoch University, Australia in 2018. Dr. Diswandi’s scholarly pursuits gravitate towards elucidating the intricacies of Payment for Ecosystem Services, Sustainable Tourism, the Economic dimensions of Tourism, and Development Economy. His scholarly contributions are well-documented through numerous publications in reputable academic journals, indicative of his dedication to advancing knowledge in his field. COURSE ACCESS

This course is an integral part of the ‘WE are Water Education (Indonesia)‘ program.
