Environmental Management System

This course will introduce the approach of the organization’s overall management structure that addresses immediate and long-term impacts of its products, services and processes on the environment. For sustainable industrial development goals, the lesson will focus on key knowledge areas of different management systems and approaches that are used around the world to manage the environment. From the on-ground experience, this subject is of vital importance of EMS, seeking as it does to achieve win-win-win situation among the industrial owner, humans and environment.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

Minimum work experience and education of:

• Diploma or/and University graduate level equivalent
• One-year experience working in industries or three months’ experience working full-time in a field-based environmental issues
• Related job roles: Manager Level from Industries, Environmental Consultants

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After completion of this course, participants will be able to

• Identify a set of processes and practices that enable an organization to minimize environmental pollution and degradation of Environmental Impacts due to industry
• Enhance the production efficiency of industry for the Sustainable Industrial Development
• Integrate of comprehensive Environmental Management System to existing production management system
• Better understanding of the sustainability of Industry with living environment

ABOUT INSTRUCTOR

Mr. Khin Maung Win, an Environmental Engineer who has Chemical Engineering background, contributed fifty workshop seminars and trainings with local and international Organizations, Industries and Universities in the field of Green Technology and Environmental Management System for Sustainable Development. He also taught and conducted as a supervisor of research/thesis at YTU and YU over eighteen years.
