Climate Change Adaptation Planning for Ports and Inland Waterways

Depending on the criticality of the assets in Ports and waterways, their vulnerabilities and risks of climate change impacts can be different. Firstly, Mr. Aung Phyo Kyaw will explain what kind of climate change impacts are likely to affect Ports and Inland Waterways such as floods, heat, extreme events, etc. Then, the Four Stages of Planning Process of adapting to such impacts will be shared.

You will learn the Climate Change Adaptation planning process for Ports and Inland Waterways in this course. The planning process will be based on the internationally recognized guideline which is usually applied in maritime projects worldwide. Your understanding of each lesson will be tested after every lesson with quiz.

STUDENT REQUIREMENTS

Basic knowledge of Climate Change and Ports will be helpful although no other specific skills are required.

After completion of this course, you will be able to understand:

• the Climate Change Impacts on ports and waterways
• the planning process to adapt those impacts on ports and waterways based on international practice
